Here is a long list of many French lessons to help you plan your daily activities for all grades.
Le Shopping au Paris- In this activity we will be visiting web sites to shop from Les Trois Suisses, the popular mail order-catalog that millions of people throughout the French-speaking world use to buy clothes, items for the home and gifts.
Le Tour de France- Become more familiar with map of France. Review dates and names of days of week.
Le Tour de France 1999- To use the Internet to learn up to date cultural information about the French speaking world.
Le Tour du Monde Francophone- Compose flight announcements/Present them. Listen to flight announcements to reconstruct others’ itineraries.
Learning Scenarios for A Simulated Trip to Regions of France- Create your personnage. Tell about yourself, family members (give yourself siblings), why your family is spending two years in France (create a specific reason, identifying an organization/company/opportunity). This will form the basis for your letters.
Les Animaux de la Ferme Lesson Plan- Students will be able to identify and associate appropriate animal sounds to farm animals both orally and in writing.
Letters and Numbers- To teach the French pronunciation and spelling of letters and numbers and to provide an introduction to “special characters.”
Mangeons a Paris!- Learn advanced vocabulary pertaining to food and restaurants.
Manger A Paris: Revision Arrondissements et Restaurants- In this activity we will be visiting web sites for restaurants in Paris.
More Optional Units- Students will create and describe a poster depicting one or more ways to conserve energy.
Optional Units- Students will write and produce a television advertisement describing a brand new body-care product on the market.
Outdoor Living- The students will create posters to try to convince others to take part in an outdoor activity.
Paris la Nuit- You will be visiting Web sites for night clubs in Paris. List below the information you would expect to find in an ad for a night club.
Patrick Bruel French Singer- Use information about someone to compose a portrait of that person through diverse application activities.
ALLONS AU TOUR DE FRANCE!- Learn about the Tour de France, its history and racers, and some French geography.
Un Grand Magasin à Paris- In this activity we will be visiting the catalogue pages of a department store in Paris.
Visite Virtuelle du Louvre- In this activity we will take a virtual tour of the Louvre Museum in Paris.
French Physical Activity Lesson Plans
Physical Activity- Students will conduct interviews to discover the sports interests of the class.
Physical Exercise- Students will devise a personal fitness plan that could be incorporated into their daily lives.
Physical Surroundings- Students will design and describe a floor plan of their choice.
French Art Classroom Lessons Plans
The Arts- Students will share and critique a favorite song.
The Arts and Artistic Creations- Students will present a critique of a movie.
French Business Lesson Plans
The Young Consumer- Students will create a catalogue or handbook of goods and services specifically for adolescents.
Trades and Professions- Students will complete a job application form, write a curriculum vitae and make a presentation about one part-time job that they would like to have.
The Calendar- Students will create a calendar relating to the class and school.
Misc French Lesson Plans
Preparing a Menu and Ordering Food- Students will prepare a varied restaurant menu and then perform a restaurant skit.
Shopping in La Redoute Catalogue- . In this activity, you will visit the web site for the popular mail order catalogue company that millions of French people use to buy clothes, items for the home and other products.
The Language Bank- To provide practice in reading, listening to, and writing in a foreign language; to expand vocabulary and command of idiom in a foreign language; to gain greater understanding of a foreign culture; to raise awareness of the practical importance of foreign language skills in a global society.
The Media- Students will develop their ideal television guide.
The Photo-French Reflex- The students wrote the 48-page booklet in French and created accompanying grammar explanations, exercises, and tests.
Travel Experiences- Students will create and present a class travel album.
Trois Recettes de Trois Pays Francophones- Even the lesson plan is in French.
Un Arbre Généalogique- The following unit is an extension of a family theme for French 2 and/or 3, for both individual and groups of four students and for block scheduling equalling a three-day lesson.
Weather- Explain the weather in certain cities and regions of France.
A La Tele- Recognize names of TV Channels, program times (in 24 hour clock), types of TV programs and review likes and dislikes of programming.
